I can't get you a picture of the VRD530HF turned on because it won't turn on I need to figure out what's wrong with the power supply first. Anybody ever have one of those consoles it fits in? They seem even rarer than the VCRs. I've never seen one.

I'll take a better picture of the VRE550HF SVHS turned on when I get some more time later this week.

How 'bout some Pro VCR? JVC BR-6400U

weighs 50 lbs, transport is built on a thick aluminum block, everything is direct drive except the loading mech and ejector mech. My best performer picture wise. Too bad about the lack of HiFi audio, though the linear audio performance is pretty good.

Here's close up pictures of the display on the Zenith VRD530HF and VRE550HF. I'm not very good at photography, and even worse with the cell phone.

a 1988 Zenith VRD530HF, manufactured by JVC. It was an unusual take on VCR design and as far as I know, nobody else made anything like this. Plus, it and a non-stereo version were the only ones Zenith ever had.

Adam, I recently fixed color on my 2 JR9000 decks. This video helped me greatly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z6XYJrT3NI

One thing he doesn't explain is you also want to adjust the playback video amps (the pots were labeled 1H and 2H PB level) on the YC-L board under the playback mech. You want to connect the RF out of the deck to a TV to do this instead of using video out (the monitor I was using wouldn't show the issue on the video input). Basically you want to use the decks tuner to see what normal video level should be (brightness wise) then hit play and adjust 1H and 2H to take the excessively dark video, that you'll probably find you have, and return it to a normal brightness level comperable to what the decks tuner gets.

IIRC I bought a Zenith SVHS deck off of you...The same VCR repair kick I recently was on that fixed the Beta decks also fixed that SVHS (though I had to part out a working Zenith VHS-HiFi deck with the same mech to that).

I watched that guy's SL7200 video last week hoping he would run across that color issue, but that one worked fine after he got the mechanical issues sorted. Looks like I just picked the wrong video.

That "Toshiba"...
And with that "Hitachi" I couldn't find any pic.
Didn't know that under the "Minolta" brand they made V.C.R.'s. I'm a "Minolta" fan.
