Zenith h880r speaker info?

Just wondering if someone can tell me what sort of speaker is used in this old Zenitth console I'm working on? I was hoping to be able to test this without pulling the speaker from the cabinet but I can't find impedance info. I basically want to know if I can use an 8ohm speaker or if this unit requires the speaker it was connected too? Parts list just calls it a 10 inch speaker. H880R/8h20
Thanks

Use any speaker from 4 to 32 ohm to test. The SPKR may
also have an electro magnet that doubles as a choke coil.
Be sure not to hook it there or you will hear a very loud POP !!!
good luck

The schematic shows a PM speaker. Impedance is somewhere around 3.2 to 8 ohms.

I had an opportunity to fire up the radio portion yesterday using a Minimus 77 speaker. Replaced the speaker wire and subbed a new power cord as both were badly deteriorated.
It works! Next step is to check out the tt and proceed to overhaul the chassis.
Thanks for the speaker info guys. I don't know why that PM designation for the radio didn't strike me as "permanent magnet" D'oh!
