Metz babyphon 101 Question
I am getting a Metz babyphon which needs work and I was wondering how to lubricate turn controls like volume knob etc. If I use pb blaster I am afraid it would leave a lingering smell and also what cartridge does it require thank you.

Well I don't know the house's recommendation around here, but PB blaster is far too thin. It'll run right off after a couple days. Unless the controls are frozen, I wouldn't use it. Personally, I prefer white lithium grease in aerosol cans. Either Liquid Wrench or WD brand, all the others I've tried suck. It has good adhesion and lubricates nicely.

PB blaster is not really a control cleaner...If the shaft is stuck it's good at freeing it. The best control cleaner is Deoxit, but it is also stupid expensive. De-Ox-ID I've found to be roughly equivalent in performance but much cheaper. WD-40 works in a pinch but it does not last as long....A dirty pot cleaned with WD-40 will be good for ~1 year before re-cleaning becomes needed where as the purpose made control cleaners tend to last ~5 years.
