Halolite

I spent most of today with the Sylvania Halolite. After many hours of undivided attention to the set (surprisingly the phone didn't ring all day), I found it to have a bad power transformer. They certainly make a big stink. I was not a happy camper! Oh well. There were at least two other similiar Sylvanias up there in the attic... one with a crt and one without. Hopefully, the chassis numbers will be the same and has the same power transformer. Even if the chassis number is the same, there is only a 50/50 chance that the transformer will be the same. According to Sam, there were two different part numbers, and it depends on what the serial number of the chassis is. That isn't very encouraging.

Lightbulb Light works!

Ya know, it never occurred to me till just now to check and see if the flourescent light around the picture tube still worked! I forgot that the light has its own power transformer. Well, I wired it up, and it actually still works!

That makes me feel better! I doubt any store has this light in stock! After it was on for a few minutes, I could tell that having it on while watching tv would just give one a major headache!!!
