Pretty quiet in here!

Hey, where did everyone go?
No one has posted for days, did you all quit the hobby? Can I have your stuff Hee Hee

Anyway here's a couple pictures of an upcoming project.

This chassis is out of a 1949-50 Hoffman. It was filthy and a mouse had been living in it so I took it out on the back patio and scrubbed the heck out of it with Simple Green and other industrial strength cleaners, then I rinsed it off with the garden hose followed by a low temp bake in the oven for about an hour.

Eric:
You outa be ashamed of yourself destroying the habatat of a perfectly innocent, and maybe endangered species of mouse! Of course I suppose if it was still in there when it was fired up it would be BBQ mouse! Ahh, the smell of barbeque....
Is that chassis out of the 10" little wood tabletop, some of which had doors? I have one without konbs and would like an idea of what the controls look like, whenever it is done.

I haven't forgotten your transformer, just been busy.
Marlin
PS: Sorry I have been incommunicado, been a bit sick.

Hi Marlin, this is actually a 12" set, It is a tabletop and it has doors.
I will post a picture tonight that I took prior to taking it apart.

It has beautiful red knobs and also a radio.
It uses a 12QP4 CRT and it is bad, rejuvenated it but it still ain't much. I have a 12LP4 but I don't know yet if it can be adapted, the sub book says no.

Hoffman Picture

I guess I should have called the first chassis picture "Dusty Hoffman" <groan>

Here's what the set looks like, since the picture was taken I have poished up the brass front plate and it looks like new!

Eric,

That simple green must be some powerful stuff. It seems to have dissolved all the glass including even the picture toob!

My absence from AK this week was because I was extremely busy doing everything here without any help (bench work, bookkeeping, packing and shipping, etc.). My employee was using his pre-enlistment functions for the military as an excuse for his absenteeism, until his Sergeant called to ask why he hadn't been showing up for them. Of course, I immediately fired the kid. Now, I need to find another high school kid willing to help out part time for minimum wage. That shouldn't be hard to do, since packing tv sets and parts is much easier work than most fast food and retail jobs.
