well i am finding more wrong the latest is a 100k resistor across the focus coil, burned guess i have to track down why or what cause it to burn in the first place. though it really looks like the fly is new as it is the cleanest and newest part in this set so maybe someone tried to get the high voltage going but had no luck. i think its an rca 15 chasis which they had all rca chasis in silvertone sets.

any ideas out there why a 100k resistor would burn like this and the focus adjust has a burn mark on it as well. i did check the 130m 6k cap and not shorted thought it might be but now it looks like it may get ahead of me to fast here but i have to take one at a time.

I wish I was better at diagnosing these things. Make sure nothing could have shorted out to the HV cage. Sometimes it's pretty tight inside there, especially with a build-up of dirt, and maybe it arced over?
Not as much traffic in the tech forum as there should be-I know I forget to look here. Hopefully somebody smarter than me will notice and chime in!
