Coin operated radio
I bought this nos radio a few weeks ago. Even though it sat unused all the paper caps were shot as well as the cord!
After replacing those it works and sounds nice, Anyone out there know much about this radio and when it was made? It is a six tube with a 35L6 as output. A quarter gives 2 hrs playing time. The company is Coradio out of New Jersey. My guess is late forties? It uses sylvania tubes, Not sure about the numbers on them (331) possible date code? Or factory code? 331 is the EIA code for Sylvania - usually it's followed by a 3 diigit date code which is year/week so 826 would be 1948, June. Sometimes just changed quarterly. By the 60s they generally used 4 digit date codes, but not always. Check the electrolytics - I usually find date codes on =them.

Tom, do you know how to decode the letter date codes on later Sylvania or GE tubes?
