Looking for an RCA Video Processor IC

My 1997 RCA Console Set I had posted about before my Repairman has found the source of problem.

I need a different Video Processor IC. The number is 215524LA7610.

He said the Reference number on the Chassis is U1001.

This was found to be the problem with my Horizontal and Vertical Issues. He thought he had found a Video Processor IC but it was for a Sony Set and would not work in my RCA Set. This is for a CTC 177AM2 Chassis. He said any CTC 170 Series would work as a replacement.

Thanks.

Is a code coincidence, or is the LA7610 Sanyo jungle IC?

Good eye Alex.

The IC from the following chassii are PROBABLY the same.
CTC 175, 176, 177, 185, 186 & 187.
To confirm look up the 6 digit RCA part# & compare. Millions of these sets
were sold so you can find one. Only thing is this is an E-prom set
& they can do odd things. You may want to try one first. HINT !
install a socket.

I might have one. I'll check the storage area.

In the meantime, if your tech isn't averse to taking advice, I would pull the little horiz crystal (it's yellow or blue plastic near the jungle IC) and scrupulously clean both the board and the bottom of the crystal. I've seen electrolytics near by leak a bit and get under that resonator causing all sorts of stability issues or even no sweep. More common in the 169 than anything.

I might have that part in my IC Stash, I can take a look for you if you want, I had picked up several years back at the local SA Thrift Store a couple of baskets of TV Repair Parts that came from a local appliance repair shop that closed up shop and I have a lot of RCA, Zenith and Philips IC Chips.

UPDATE: I just checked through my IC Chip Stash and unfortunately I did not have the exact part number you need for your set, I had many chips that came close to your part number you needed (many of them from the CTC17x series of color TV Chassis) but not the exact part number so I unfortunately don't have the part you need like I thought I did.
