Thats quite a joint ! The 2 car garage just screems "TV SHOP" to me.
Dont think I could get used to the lawn. I look out the window & see 100' of grass then miles of forest in all directions....... 73 Zeno

That is a great place! TV shop for sure and a vehicle lift will come in super handy! (for lifting Consoles?) We have those exact lifts at my work and they are terrific!
I grew up in the Mojave Desert so I love it, especially if you have some space around you to breathe. I'm not crazy about the heat anymore but hey, if the house is paid for then you can crank the A/C and to hell with the electric bill.

Here in Phoenix, block walls are popular to border the property line. There is one around the whole complex. Out of the 10 lots on this property, there are three with housese on them, one with a RV garage, and one where the ground was prepared for a house, but it never got built. The remaing five are untouched. I doubt any houses will be built on them in the near future.

I keep coming back to this thread with thoughts of pure envy! I have been thinking about whether to retire and where, and one of the problems is finding a place to move all my junque that I don't want to downsize.
Curiosity prompts me to ask: What is the situation for utilities (water and sewer, trash pickup)? Any similar properties living-area-wise {Edit - I mean similar square feet} (but don't need the RV garage and lift) in the area, or is this as unique as it seems? What kind of work is needed on outdoor upkeep? (Never lived in a desert area, and pay a landscaping service to keep up my relatively small lot in this area.)

I was wondering the same thing ! ! !
Me and the wife would like to go somewhere outside of Taxville and wonder about heating and stuff like that.... And for me, daily wind speed and direction.... I went to school in Stillwater Ok. every day was a 15 mph wind out of the south, don't dare go on a long bike ride going north..... So what's it like there...? Trash pick up.... We now treat our trah with loving care and drive it to the transfer station, so it's packed carefully and stored for a few months, the right stuff is composted, but basically its packaging that is cleaned ans stored...

I can already see it, a retirement village centered around old tv's, have its own LP transmitter and all.
Near by me there was a retirement village built back in the late 70's IIRC, RC World. It catered to retirees that had an interest in remote control aircraft. modestly priced homes and condos with a very nice flying site in the back. after a while more and more "regular folks" moved in. Not sure if it was just the economics of the homes prices, or if retirees died and left to non modelers but there were fewer and fewer owners that had interest in the flying site. years ago the site was sold (again IIRC) and is no longer active. A lot of it had to do with the growth of the area (land became more and more valuable, as growth into outlying areas always seems to happen.

Buckeye population grew from about 6500 to over 50,0000 between 2000 and 2010.
240,000 homes planned in next 30 years. http://www.buckeyeaz.gov/index.aspx?nid=67 Currently there seems to be a Fry's supermarket and a super Walmart, plus one or two small places for groceries.

Being that this house is just outside of town it has a well and septic.
The trash pick up is a dumpster that gets emptied once or twice a month. It is for the 3 houses in this area. Looks like you did your research on the Buckeye area. It is growing. That Fry's supermarket and Super Wall-Mart is about 5 miles from my place. There is also a Lowe's, Pet Smart and the major fast food joints in that area. Where they are it is considered Buckeye, but it isn't Buckeye proper. They are on the outskirts of town. There are quite a few subdivisions near there. The majority of them have just a basic 2 car garage. The RV garage is special. In addition the majority of them have smaller yards. Typically when the houses are built the lot is just dirt. You have to pay for whatever landscaping you want. The rock is, if done properly, mainly maintenance free. It is considered "Desert Landscaping". For the few weeds you will get, you can take care of it yourself or hire someone to take care of it.

The inside of the house is done. Furniture moved in, pictures hung on the wall. Still working on the back yard, so will wait to post pictures of it, but here are pictures of the inside of the house.

Yes it is large. 2,500 sq foot house. Plus it has the vaulted ceilings. Not a big fan of the high ceilings, but its ok. I am looking forward to getting my TVs and radios all displayed in the RV garage.
old_tv_nut, thanks about the display. I'm lucky I'm able to display them in the house. The remainder will be in the garage.

Again " WOW " - that is really some house ! !
I would be turning that big garage into a home auto repair business & Honda restoration center.... I like the way you have all yer goodies displayed on the little nooks and such around the house.... And love the colors ! ! Love the kitchen too ! Good job ! .
