Looking at a Kenwood R5000
And wondering what I should pay for it. This particular unit is easy to find.

Had one, liked it, at least til I traded it for a JRC NRD-535D. I had the UHF extender on my R-5000, too. The 535D got zapped by Lightning, insurance bought me a then-new NRD-545. IT ain't goin' anywhere...I'm thinkin' an R-5000 oughta be worth at least $275.

Looking around this one seems over priced. May need to exercise the patients here. Had a R2000. Loved it. Want to replace it. Running a Hammarlund but want some newer reception features.

My 545 will do EVERYTHING but wipe yr Bum...And I have the "Extender " for it as well, I have at least 2 UNREAL FM DX machines-It, & my ICOM R-7000. Now, if I can just get me that 40-60' Rohn tower I been lustin' after. I have a BIG Winegard Deep Ultra Fringe FM antenna, need the tower, a rotatorator (grin) A decent distribution amp, & I'll be All Set.... This area is UNREAL FM DX territory...Almost Atlanta to Roanoke, Va. Charlotte to nearly Nashville.
