Small world! For a year in the early 1970s, I lived just around the corner from there, at 857 Lincoln Avenue.

About a dozen blocks to the West on Grand is Macalester College, which I attended for a couple of years.

A nice street, although not as tony as nearby Summit Avenue, where people like J.J. Hill and F. Scott Fitzgerald had lived in grand stone piles.

I don't remember offhand if there was a TV shop in that location at the time. Grand Avenue has been yuppified in recent years, of course.

I also lived on Portland Ave., on the other side of Summit. For about $50 a month, my roomie and I rented a 3-bedroom apartment in a historic stone townhouse with a balcony. This was about 1.5 blocks from the place where Fitzgerald lived. Lord knows what those places must cost nowadays!
