What's special about this Zenith??

I have seen many sets like this, I may be picking up two for thirty bucks next week. Why is this one going for so much? Is it just a couple collectors with deep pockets? Don't plug it in, the "chord" has "bear" spots.LOLhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=350177575073

Crazy!, what's worse is it looks like someone spray painted the bottom half gold!
Look closely, you can see some red peeking out on the bottom! Good luck getting that off that fabric covered case.

I bought my "Bug eye" for $35 and it was in working condition and is also the rare lighted channel indicator model. I also bought a parts one just in case its needed later for $5 This guy is just being optimistic. Yes, they are collectable but dont fetch the big bucks compared to some of the others. I love mine!

Hey Eric, after you said that, I looked closely at the pictures. I think someone did spray it with gold paint. look at the pic of the bottom, it has those dull finger marks that happen to that cheap gold paint when you rub on it. That and I've never heard of a gold one. I kinda feel bad for the poor sap that is paying WAY too much for it.

Well that's no fun, all the channels are in order from 2-13 around the knob! Do you suppose the seller's been waiting over 3 years to list it? If so, it's true that good things come to those who wait.

I think it used to be alligator green or red. Definitely a displaced decimal in the price

That's a ridiculous price. I own one of those. A nice performer, but not worth that much.

I paid $35 for mine. Would have offered more like $20, but a friend found it in someone's basement when doing some contracting work, so I paid him a little extra as a finder's fee.

The gold color on this one is ghastly. Somebody did a sloppy job with a spray bomb or a jug of colored modge-podge from the craft store

Here's the $349 one, a damn rustbucket POS.

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ZENITH-P...3A1|240%3A1318

Read the comments below, someone wrote and told them it was only worth $50-$75 (Generous, I would say $25 tops) and the seller was a rude ass to them.

I'm so fed up with eBay and everyone listing the most beat up crap for $500 with a "Best Offer" option, I mean really, are you going to make an offer when the price is so off the wall you know it's pointless to offer anything?

What a dork. Even the most rudimentary research would've given him a much more reasonable asking price. It won't sell...he'll get cheesed and it's off to the dumpster. Too bad.

I can't believe how much (spiked) pot is being smoked by some eBayers these days...
