Smile Bonjour from Quebec

Hi to Everyone!

Kind of surprising myself by being here, not being the kinda gal who has ever been all that interested in anything to do with video, but I all of a sudden find myself thrown into the game by having a couple of old televisions come my way that absolutely scream “Worthy! Please help!”.

I’m really pleased to have found this group, knowing just how incredible a bunch of passionate freaks you are: from the captivated to the collector, sharing your knowledge with even the most unsavvy of shlubs (that’ll be me).

My level of ignorance is going to show itself to be epically shameful, so I really want to Thank You in advance for your patience as I stumble through what is really unknown territory for me.

Welcome.

If you don't have electronics experience starting with a 5 tube radio is a good way to learn. The average monochrome tv is 5X as complicated as a radio and a color TV is 3x as complicated as a monochrome TV...If you start small you can find your mistakes easier without getting as lost.

Welcome. Why do people mispronounce your province?

Welcome to VK! The level of patience with the uninformed knows no bounds here. I was helped many years ago by the amazingly helpful people here. You have found a wonderful group of people who will be more than willing to help. I must warn you that television collecting is addictive, you may soon find yourself following me down the rabbit hole.
