Funny thing is that at twice the price of the "Crosley color clock radio" in the plain jane box , it likely has the exact same electrical components . It ain't the steak it's the sizzle .....

Oh , and I forgot to say , I do like the looks of it , nice score !
PS , aren't you the guy who asked me if I have a warehouse for a hundred or so sets ? It seems you've been on quite the buying spree lately , not that there's anything wrong with that as long as ya got the room for them all |

MY warehouse is not so large. I'm now forced to focus on smaller radios, or give up a console or two. which I'm not going to do. Small radios can occupy every nook, cranny, shelf, and alcove in my home. When that is full, some of the wife's crap will need to go. |

Every set in that ad except the one(s) with FM were probably the exact same AA5 circuit.

I've got the middle one in the ad (the graduate), and it is indeed a garden variety AA5 chassis. Oddly enough, the chassis is mounted sideways with the bottom facing the front of the cabinet, that way the tuning knob connects straight thru the side without a dial string. Actually, it's a nice sounding radio for a plain-Jane set.

It's "V.I.P" that makes all the difference.
