In & Out

Last weekend we had two tornadoes hit north of here knocking out power and cable for a day and a half. Tomorrow I go in for heart surgery to correct an improperly attached sensing wire to my heart from my pacemaker. I'll be "in-stir" overnight without access to my internet. If you don't see much of me you know now.

Good luck from northeastern Ohio as well. I hope your surgery goes well. Whenever anything goes awry with the human heart it is very serious.

I was in the hospital myself last year the entire month of November following an accident. I was without my Internet as well all that time, and when I got home my inbox had perhaps 100+ messages (I don't remember the exact number anymore); it took me perhaps an hour or so to get rid of them, many of which were spam or ads. My telephone answering machine had 23 messages stored on it too, some of them from a friend of mine who isn't too bright (!), who kept calling to see when I would be home; this despite the fact I had called him the first night I was in the hospital to let him know what was going on, and that I probably wouldn't be home for some time.

The problem was worse than expected. The surgeon and anesthesiologist got a real workout. It will be awhile before the full effect of the repair is known. I would've felt better with one of you experts in the suite. Anyone who can fix a '54 through '80 color set should be more than qualified!
