Platter cleaning for Cobramatic?

I'm working on an old 1951ish cobramatic turntable and was wondering if anyone can tell me how to safely clean the fuzzy cloth on the platter?
TIA

Soap and water with a very soft bristle brush? Idk, not that I've ever had to clean felt like that, but that's what I'd start with.

I've had luck spraying glass cleaner into the felt to saturate it then pressing down with a paper towel to squeeze out and soak up the funky liquid...Granted some felts and other soft coatings, especially if in bad shape, may come apart from this.
