Groucho you bet your life tv repairman
Was listening to chml 900 out if Canada , they play old radio shows from 10-1 every night , they played a you bet your life show and one contestant was a tv repairman , when asked who he worked for he said Muntz , my reaction was you really need a repairman when you own a Muntz , no idea what the air date was.

Muntz's were simple sets, I've heard.
But I think a lot of people really forget just how reliable technology in general has become. I mean... these days, you can go 15k miles between oil changes. 50 years ago you'd be lucky to go that far on a set of points, antifreeze, tires, I could go on... |

When a set has as few parts as a muntz they all need to be in peak condition....Many muntzes I've heard of needed tube rolling after recap and re-resistor work just to have deflection work decently. Had to be interesting working on such simple finnicky chassis.
