Got a Minerva...

...Ystrday at an Anty-Kew Shoppe in Morristown that was closing. Nice wooden case tabletop, works, needs controls de-oxited, the nice civilian what had it removed ALL the labels/tube charts, Thanks, Dude ! But it has a tone control, & just looking at it, I'd figger LATE pre-war/postwar. The Dial Glass is flaking BADLY, I was doing good to tell its a Minerva. I needed it like I need another Whole in my Head, but it was a pretty day, LA & I were out having fun rummaging thru Anty-Kue shoppes, & I got it for $35. Anybody got any info on Minerva ? I know they were in LA, from the dial glass, but that's about it.

Update-I looked at the dial glass a little more closely-Again, it is flaking BADLY, but I can make out "Minerva Corp Of America", NOT "Los Angeles" like I previously thought. This might end up bein' Fun, tracking this 'un down !

I have two Minerva Tropic Masters and a Porta Pal. The Tropic Masters have kind of a different approach to the bias circuit. Also strange to me, in uses a solid wire buss for the B+. It's easy to make a mistake when working on it, thinking that is a B- return. I don't think they were in business very long.
