I expect someone probably purchased it off of eBay maybe made him an offer he couldn't refuse sometimes you pay more if you need one bad enough and it's in the right location...close by.

The thing that would scare me about paying big bucks is getting a tube the seller "restored" and conveniently forgot to mention, particularly those who own a tube tester. Six weeks after installing it's got the pearly smears.
