CWL-837 WWII Navy tube??

Alright kids, here's a trip down mammary, er, memory lane. Found this mint NOS tube in it's original US Navy box (dated 10/42) and haven't a clue what flavor it is.....am guessing it's probably some sort of power tube for a transceiver or radar/sonar gear. Anyone know? Is this something the audio guys can use?

Oh, wow ! A Wobbulator tube for a hydrostatic gonkulator ! Better call Col. Hogan & Sgt. Schultz...Think they've been looking for one...Seriously, I ain't got a clue...Prolly some sort of power tube. I found 3 similar ones in an antique shop about a year ago, & bought 'em, mainly because I didn't want some kid to drop 'em & get hurt. The antique shop propietor, of course, had no clue as to what they were.-Sandy G.

For what it's worth - it's a beam power pentode, used as an RF amplifier or oscillator. Good for 28 watts class C amp.
