Got a space command 300!
Hey, got another space command set! I dont come across them too often so its a time to celebrate when I find one!
This is a 1960 model, E1920W chassis 16D25Q. Got it in Alsip, IL for free. This set was sitting covered in dust in a basement untouched in years! Cleaned it up of course and it didnt work too good. Thankfully the CRT is like new, bright and strong. Now for the negs: Vertical was way too short and the horizontal sync was out of phase. Simple cure by replacing the dual selenium diode (Horizontal Phase Detector). Vertical problem in the vertical oscillator, two bad caps, replaced with orange drops. Replaced all the black beautys, only about 7 in the whole set. Burn out channel indicator bulb and sc chassis pilot bulb. Drive motor on the space command turret tuner was froze stuck. Got that free and oiled it. All other mechanics on the tuner looks great. Aligned the oscillator coils on the space command chassis for peak performance. The set has a great picture and the motor drive works smooth. the set can change channels w/o a problem from 30 feet away.

Here is the chassis sitting on the bench "cooking out" after repairs to make sure everything is ok. The moving pad was used while servicing the underside of the chassis as the CRT needed to be placed on its face.
