Emerson 14" 1950's portable
I need a little help on this one! I have a 14" 1950's Emerson suitcase style portable TV. It appears that it is a model 1146. However, the only Emerson model 1146 schematic i can find, is for a console model made around 1956. Any and all help would be appreciated.

The chassis is about the same for all models, 14" to 21". It's a low B+ series string, with the only big difference being the tuners. |

+1 I also have the 1146 in a beige tolex covering and yes the Sams seems to show only console models. I started a thread here about 3 years ago, still sitting on my bench partly recapped and with some minor issue. Another project stalled in favor of the money makers

Does it look like this? I have seen that set in tan, as well. Definitely AC/DC, simple half wave power supply... low voltage circuits.

Many makers (especially the cheaper ones) put the same chassis in various cabinets driving various CRT sizes...Sometimes the biggest screen they offered was driven by the same chassis as the smallest portable.

I still have a chassis for one of these if you wind up needing anything made of unobtanium.

That original tube in yours was a Dumont in the Early TV forum post that got bumped. Thanks for the encouragement, I should finish mine.

When I got the set, it had a brightner on it and I think, someone rejuvenated it to death, probably with an old B&K.
