Anyone have more info on the Triumph CTV8000

Hi.
I wandered if anyone knows any more info on these?
They have a 5 inch screen and are labelled as TRiumph CTV8000.
I've seen some tvs listed as Grundig/Triumph but I can't find any info on the net about these.
The screen is Orion branded see photos.
I have 2, 1 works fine, the other has sound no picture, the screen did come on once, I knocked the left hand side of the casing with the other one accidentally.
I will be looking for any bad connections or failing solder joints etc.
The one that works has scuffed plastics and broken aerial mount, so this one I plan to install a generic retro console inside to make a portable retro arcade. But I would like the other one working first.

Mine was badged Radio Shack bought new in 1984 with a picture tube with dots. K-Mart also sold them with a black case and slotted picture tube badged KMC. I've seen the German version with silver/gray case. The owners manual came with a schematic. I used to use it for mobile TV DX, very good UHF tuner...

In the UK Triumph was a Currys own brand name used in the earlier part of the 1980s before they changed to using the Japanese sounding Matsui, No idea who actually manufactured the sets for them though.

I had one of those branded as Telefunken. Thought it was pretty neat, since that's a not brand name you see here in Canada.

They may have been made by Toyomenka A.K.A. TMK.
They were a surprisingly good set.

They were indeed branded TMK, perhaps sold in discount stores other than K-Mart (KMC brand) in the US.

Quick story on my first TMK. Had one a little older with a broken dial cord.
Needed a manual to restring it & tracked them down. Got a nice girl
there & they sent me a FREE manual ! When I got it I noticed
" dial string assy" Ordered one, under $10 at the time. It was pre strung
on a plastic frame & went in in seconds ! Sure beat paying our audio guy
to deal with it. Strings are one thing I could never get right.

I do have the TMK version of that same set, or a similar one.

Agree Zeno. Toyomenka TMK ......I have one here that I bought new from Kmart back in 1985 for about $250 bucks.

The focus pot went bad about 5 years later and got the replacement pot from Toyomenka along with the schematics from the shop where I worked..

The set was my daily driver as a VCR monitor .Great color too.
