I'm new here- Pensacola ,Florida

The guys over at Vintage Hi Fi Net told me about this forum. I'm more of a vintage console guy but I keep running across old TV's in my search for record players. I have acquired six over the last year.I'm more of a buyer of opportunity. Mine are just decoration for now. I find them and clean them up and keep them safe in my house. Here is my newest find. A 1954 RCA 24D543 Freemont deluxe. It looked like a cute little TV in the Craigslist picture. I was shocked how large the set was when I saw it in person. It's in great shape for it's age and untouched. I paid $50. I will enjoy looking at the picture's and stories on all the Threads. Thanks

Welcome to the forum

That is one nice RCA and the channel knob looks just like on on my 1955 CBS Columbia console.
You'll find the very best advice here on TV restoration and lots of interesting opinions.

If you've done capacitor replacement work to repair tube HiFi gear then a TV won't be much of a leap. Make sure The CRT is good before you start the recap, and expect it to need some adjustments once you finish the recap. Sometimes an especially easy TV can be less of a job than an especially hard HiFi.

Welcome to the forum everyone is very nice here. What a coincidence! I am thinking about buying this same Freemont! There is a seller not far from me who is selling it for $70 so I am working overtime to buy it!
