Great little rescue from TV massacre

Look at the HV capacitors that connect between the collector of the horizontal output transistor and ground. It's possible that one of these has either driften in value or opened. These can also have an effect on the HV; so, be careful and replace them with the same rating as was originally installed.

Your set is according to Sams a M46 chassis. Sams 1814-1.

The horz & vert is a count down circuit. IC600 is sync sep & a
divide by for H&V osc. The 'lytics that are in the circuit are
C801 1mfd
C806 1mfd
C807 33mfd
One of them probably is causing both problems.
25V caps are way fine but what the hell use 50's !

VCC for the IC is pin 11 at 9.3 VDC
There is a start & run source, more on that if necessary.

I will keep out the Sams if you need more.

I remain irritated at the local Goodwill for what I saw a few years ago: sitting in the donation center were a 13" CC2 and a small 70s Trinitron, both very clean. They refused to sell them to me for any price. For that, I no longer donate there.

Yeah, the official rule of the Starvation Army here is that once something is in a trash/recycling cage it can't be sold. The way things were going they probably would have stopped me from trash-picking had I been there long enough. My 1978 19" XL-100 probably only made the floor because I was there at the time. Of all my sets that one's been with me the longest.

Love that Admiral! I like they were still using the "Solarcolor" verbage, as that was something they used on their tubed 60's sets. VERY cool!

need to tell these Thrift Store workers that any set that says "Made in USA (or America)" is a collector's item and is valuable since they don't make anything in America anymore. They represent a bygone era and those manufacturing jobs are never coming back.
