Zenith B27A74R console tv from 2001

Picked this up a few days ago for $30. Couldn't resiste a clean, mint tv like this one even though i don't usually bother with this late of model. Runs like it was barely usef and not a scratch or nick anywhere. I'm thinking this was the last of the floor models? Anyone know what remote was shipped with these? I'll have to order one.

This is one of the last consoles ever made. It came with the standard Zenith remotes of the day, Beautiful set! When they quit making these, we bought everyone we could. Sold them for $699.

About a year and a half ago, I sold one of those for $65 to an older lady who wanted a console. In today's world, she's was an exception because most people wouldn't have a console TV if you gave it to them. I agree that this is one of the last consoles and it should be new enough not to have the horrible Zenith CRT in it. The one I sold had a Philips tube in it.

2001 is the latest I've heard of, and this isn't the first time.

Those were mainly marketed to the last generation of senior citizens who wanted a console; but, most of that era has died off now. It's funny that up until the early 2000's, used consoles were a hot item and I could sell them quicker than I could sell a table model. Now, people look at consoles like something that you'd find in a low end trailer park or public housing. RCA also made some consoles up until at least 2000. In fact, I remember seeing them in the store for $599-$699. They contained the same chassis as the $229 portables.

Our shop was 25 miles W of Boston & folks would come out
to buy them. Most went to old Zenith people & nobody
else had them. It was a nice sale cause a truck would come
& take it never to be seen again.

I had no idea that console TVs were being made into the twenty-first century.

Oh yea they were around i remember A place here that had the right to the end. Works kinda like Rent a Center but they call it Stromans rental purchase. They had a few of these in the high 3 digit range. Then i remember something about the last ones rolling off the line. The end of an era. Then i remember it being announced online that Sony wad done with crt sets i think was in 2008.
