Zoomar Industrial TV Mark IV Lens
I would greatly appreciate any help that could be given me in identifying this lens The label reads as follows:
Industrial TV-Zoomar Mark IV U.S. Pat. 2,924,146 F/2 - 17mm to 70mm F/2.8 - 30mm to 125mm serial # is 701383 Lens was manufactured by Zoomar of Glen Cove, N.Y. Although I can find plenty of information on other types of Zoomar lenses, I have been unable to find any on this particular one. https://plus.google.com/photos/10106...CMi2gLLFvYq8Eg |

I would guess "industrial" and the small size indicate it's meant for a vidicon camera. I don't recall seeing one before.
What does the rest of the text say (appears to be installation instructions)? |

I have emails in to the smecc. They're being helpful.
The rest of the text is indeed instructions about how to loosen the clamp screw and pulling out the adapter which has the "c" mount thread, and then attaching the lens to the control box. and the last section is about setting the focus. Apparently following these specific instructions was essential to getting the lens to work. It is spescific about not shifting the vidicon tube, but using the "distance" switch in the telephoto position. The pamphlet/lens shown in the link above is different. Maybe this is an earlier model? I know absolutely nothing about photography or videography. I came across this item in a storage unit I purchased that had only bits and pieces of both photo and video equipment., |
