Found an Audio Recording today of TV
Found this Souvenir recording of a little girls appearance on an old TV show.
I don't know the date or the show but maybe someone here will. It's from Los Angeles, I was actually able to identify the family (Rechteger) from their names on another, older disc I found at the same time. It's most likely sometime in the 1950's but it could be early 60's, it's on a 78 RPM recordable disc. Heidi on TV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzgv40gLCKQ The other disc is a recording of Mozart (live recording, not off Radio) and is dated Jan 31 1942, just a little over a month after Pearl Harbor. I'll upload it when I get done with it. I found and uploaded another disc from the 40's and it's unbelievably Blue! Also from the 40's possibly during WWII or shortly after. Listen at your own discretion!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAi4TPQQexs |

Interesting! Thanks for sharing these! I have two homemade recordings from 1951, that got somewhat ruined during the leak in the house from a hurricane. They were made by a friend of mine in Spanish class, probably his second year of college. He'd be 81 tomorrow, passed away in January '92.

Very nice! I really need to learn how to do the YouTube thing so I can share some odds and ends. The other day I was weeding through the stack of 78s trying to find a certain one and I came across some home recordings that I had forgotten about. I played one and it was some poor woman murdering some classical tune.
Edit: that second recording is a hoot!

If Heidi leaves an excessive saccharin taste, Balch & Me will slap it right out of your mothereffing mouth!

I have an audio recording (on several 78's) of a local TV production from 1951, an Easter teleplay if I remember right. Was going to donate it to the local broadcasting museum that was being put together but Katrina wiped that out. One day I'll record it and upload it to Youtube for history's sake.

Your off-air recording sounds about as good as any of those homemade discs ever did.
I think your "blue" record was probably just a couple of guys messing around in a record your own record booth, but it is possible that it was an under the counter "party" record. I have a number of those, and some were very limited releases on home recorded discs. While they are from the 30s and 40s, the language is still very much like what you heard on your disc. |

Years ago I had a bunch of homemade discs and one of them was a copy of the "Farting Contest"...
