KV8000 Drifing Convergence

Okay this is a call out to Sony Experts.

I have two sets now that do this and I have yet to solve the issue. I find it fairly irritating. The other is a KV5100 that's REALLY beat that I got cheap thinking it was broken, but in actuality it works except this issue.

Once the set has been on awhile, for no reason, and quite suddenly, the convergence of the screen will drift, the colors will separate a little. I can tweak the convergence adjustment on the HV Rectifier and bring it back, but I should not have to do this.

Has anyone seen this before? All I can figure is it means the HV Rectifier is dying. The flyback connects right in to it. I have a spare from a parted KV5000 Electronic M gave me awhile back, and the rectifier is identical and the part numbers match. Should I swap it in?

Is the HV varying with the convergence variations? CRT bias issues in some Sonys can drag down the HV, taking the H-stat with it. I've not worked a Sony KV-8000 that I can remember, but I have repaired similar Sony TVs with CRT bias issues that looked like a bad H-stat block.

Andy, here on the forum, is a good resource for the small screen Sonys.

I'll probe it tomorrow. See if the HV drops when the convergence wanders off. I went in tonight and made some small adjustments to the block. See if I can find the source of this since I have two sets doing it, and I would like to do away with it. Very strange issue.
