1N60 diode replacement for CBS 205
I'm gearing up for a restoration on a CBS 205 color set, and I've been told that the plastic case 1N60 diodes CBS used are extremely failure prone. Unfortunately, the 1N60 is long out of production. Could I sub a 1N60P, which is a silicon based Schottky diode?

I'm sure that you can.

My concern is the shunt capacitance. I think a germanium diode is typically a few tenths of a picofarad. A silicon Schottky has a shunt capacitance on the order of tens of picofarads.

Might want to read this HP application note on video diodes:

The junction capacitance of the 1N60 and 1N60P is only a fraction of the load shunt capacitance and there will be no noticeable difference using either.

Why not just use what belongs there: https://www.mikeselectronicparts.com/product/1n60/
