CTC-9 Convergence Question
I tried many times to do the convergence on my 1959 CTC-9. It has a 21FBP22 CRT. The convergence is perfect except the left and right vertical. the red is off. i just found out this is supposed to have some magnets attached to the crt like the pic I found on VK. Look like little steel pins. Any suggestions? Pic of what should be there attached and also an actual pic of the Tv working but its hard to tell the convergence is off in the pic.

My goal has always been to get the center perfect out to about 1 and a half inches from the edge. Its real hard to tell with all the blue but the picture looks great!

I think your set does have it's static convergence magnets. I believe that those white bars that are on the convergence yoke are the static magnets. You can confirm this by trying to slide one towards or away form the CRT and watching for a change in the convergence.
There were many different styles of static convergence magnets and adjustments for them so it can take a bit of imiagination/playing around to recognise them and how learn to adjust them proprely. Tom C. |

The ones I'm talking about are the ones in the first pic strapped to the bell of the tube not the ones on the yoke. They look like silver rods/pins. I can get the center perfect but never the edges
