Hey guy's. I got it opened up and found that 6U8 to be bad. It actually tested good then quickly dropped to the bad range. I also fixed a wire issue on the tuner. Broke off a wire that goes to an antenna tab, resodered back on. Well, Im not going to bother swapping this tube. Im just going to get another(and a few spares) from Tim. I figure if I swap it, it'l just cripple another section of the tv.

Well huh, this morning while getting ready for the day I had the tv on, and it didn't squeel at all! I even had it cranked up 3/4 the way the whole time. (The VHS tape I had on was quiet) I even turned it to max and tapped on the set some and nothin'! Welp, I'm glad to know its just a finnicky worn out tube.

^Ha! yea it is!^
Well guy's. I've got a new tube waiting to go in, but i'm going to wait until it starts having sound issue's again... Then i'll open it back up, and swap them. I'll probably clean as many tubes that i can get out (without pulling the chassis apart) to get off the light layer of dust too. Anyway's I'd like to thank those of you who replied and help out. It's appreciated. |
