Testing a CRT-Should I remove this wire first?

Thanks to OLDTVSANDTOY sending me a B&K, I can now test my CRT...

There are two pins on the CRT socket that are connected together by a wire,
I wasn't sure if I should remove this wire before attaching the CRT test socket, or leave it in place?

I always removed them, just in case, not to cause damage to the CRT tester.
I see the focus pin is at ground potential. It must have the best focus there.
