Sony Trinitron KV-9MD1
Does anyone have any info on this TV? I can't find anything about it. Is it a US model, or an import?
Thanks. |

Foreign-market model. The US equivalent is KV-8AD12. The foreign market sets are sold with the screen size being the measurement of the entire tube face, whereas the US-Canada models are sold with the screen size being the actual viewing area of the face of the tube; excluding the glass edges, etc.

I picked up the TV today - works very well - I could not pass it up for $15
Thanks for the info - It is an import with worldwide power and tuning capabilities. Zenithfan1: Yes, it is very cute - and, I agree with you - I would not like to set it on fire! tvcollector: You are EVIL! - I like you, we could become good friends - but you can't set it on fire! off topic: kx250rider: Thanks for the info and help with the KV-4000: I have not made any progress with it, but I did get another one, untouched internally - and, it has the exact same problem. I guess that it might be considered normal, but I am going to eventually go over the first one completely because it has been tampered with internally - and badly - in it's lifetime. I just can't believe that Sony would not design a perfect picture into this very expensive and premium set. I did get a copy of the service manual - not the greatest, but it is usable. If you would like a copy, please send me your email address, and I will send it to you. |

Cute set! Looks like it uses the same or similar tube as my little KV-9PT60 AC-DC portable.

Hey! I have one of those, gawd! the picture is super sharp on these isn't it? You forget how small it is because of how good it looks and it's easy on the eyes, text looks great, even very small text like the logos in the corner of the screen (I hate those things)
