Rowe AMI MM3 Jukebox, Anyone familiar?
I have one that is in VERY bad shape. Was left in an abandoned barn for the last 20 years. Nothing works right if at all but looks complete.
Just ordered the service manual hoping it has a schematic for the amp as it looks to of had shoddy repair work done in the past. Pictures don't do it justice honestly.... Shes bad but I still see life in there. |

It projected slides on that screen to the left?

At least it used to. I haven't tried it but the slides look VERY faded. Bulb does still light though.

They also had a 'Phonovue' adaptor that showed a short 'video' to the music. With titles like 'The Secretary', and 'the Tennis girl', you can imagine the subject matter...
The production values were pretty low, surprise surprise. "Red Devil Girl" is about par for the course. From youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq2NXS95nqA |

Her tail wasn't bad, but I was waiting for what slipped out a bit higher up near the end.

If that had been out here in Colorado in a barn stored for twenty years it wouldn’t have rust anywhere. Good luck getting that restored.

In a former life, I once handled the cookies, candies, chips, stuff like that for where I worked. We got it from an outfit that serviced a BUNCH of outfits around NE Tenn, SW Virginia, WN Carolina. Rowe apparently metamorphosed into a big outfit that made dispensing machines for that kind of stuff, some of 'em were heated, some were refrigerated, some of 'em were neither. They had to be huge, yet easy to load, easy to clean, reliable, and practically impossible to break into. Helluva lot more goes into 'em than what most people realize.. We had several models called the "Merchandiser", IIRC, they held something like 60 sandwiches..

I like this AMI-Rowe MM3 (MM was Music Merchandiser). They sound very good, use a Shure M 44-C magnetic cartridge, reasonably reliable in daily use. They're nice looking. And this is along with Rock-Ola, among the easier to repair and service jukeboxes. If I found one of these I could afford, it would go in my back den. This jukebox is as tough as this preemie survivor and all he's overcome to make it to nearly 56 years old, and the adaptive athlete he proudly is. Restore it, and enjoy it every day, and have fun doing it and enjoying the results.
