Unearthed a Juliette and an Aimor
Hey all. Thought I'd share my latest finds, my only two pocket radios.
These were in a box of stuff in my garage which belonged to a great-uncle who passed away in the 80s. I never met him. Anyway I was looking for something and came across these. Both are AM only, and work after cleaning. The first, a Juliette 14 transistor, is kind of neat. Its heavy and sturdily built, with a nice overall sound. Nameplate is missing, unfortunately. The second is an Aimor, a brand I have never heard of before. Inside, it has 4 Matsushita transistors and a Toyota volume pot/switch! Unique, I thought. it sounds good but since its smaller it sounds that way. Both have carrying cases which are nice as well! I'm gonna try and use these. Neat ! I think those early solid state radios are as fascinating in their way as some of the Tooob stuff is...
