I have always had a thing for Zenith black dials and midwestern consoles.
I wish I could have restored the old Zenith Stratusphier.

It's 1937 10-S-153. 10 tube chassis and a really good performer. The dial has bulls eye tuning which is a series of circles and a little shadow dot that moves to the center as the station gets stronger, very cool. Someone had antiqued it with white and gold paint which is the reason I got it for $80.00. The paint was so thick that it actually preserved what was below. I did have to refinish it but the veneer is outstanding and the lighting bolt knobs show no wear at all. This is my favorite radio and one that will never leave my possession.

What's the floor model with the cane beside it? It reminds me of one we had as a kid and I've been trying to figure out which one that was.

Beautiful! I love the Zenith on the shelf (4th picture). Oh and the original post for the Day the earth stood still is excellent.

It's a Silvertone. 1937 or 8 I think

Very fine collection. I saw quite a few Zenith sets in the pictures, which leads me to believe you must like Zenith radios.

I have a bunch of old radios, mostly Zeniths with a couple of Sony portables and one 11-transistor Aiwa portable, in my small apartment. Just picked up a Sony 60-disc CD/AM/FM/cassette stereo (150 wpc[!]) from the trash the other day; wondering if I'll have the room for it when/if I get it working (it's presently sitting atop two large plastic containers in my bedroom, with the speakers one atop the other next to my amateur radio installation). I think I've reached my limit, though, even though all of my radios are portables/table models. One can fit only so many radios in a one-bedroom apartment before getting squeezed out.

BTW, I like that Arvin radio (model 540T, IIRC, four tubes and used an external wire antenna) in the first pic of your collection. My aunt and uncle had one almost exactly like that one, only theirs was in a green metal cabinet.
