I see Rat Shack is not very well supported here. This is the model I remember carrying around in my pocket when I was in Jr High School, 1969. The Realistic 12-1290, I think it sold for $4.95 or $5.95:

Thanks! I am kind of impressed with that. I'm not usually impressed with my own photos as the camera I used sold for under $200.

I use Photobucket (a free service) to host my photos. After I upload to PB, I can go in, select 'edit' on any of my photos and scale them down to whatever size I want. They have other 'alterations' you can make but I haven't tried any.

You can also use photo editing software on your computer. Like Photoshop, Paint, etc. I like MicroGraphx Photo Magic for doing that kind of stuff, too.

I am using a Cannon Power Shot a510 which is now old by todays standards!
It does great and I use the editing software that came with it and then upload it to my website. Sometimes I still can't figure out how large it will show up here tho!
Have a good radio collecting weekend and hope you find some somewhere!
Might as well put another picture in! Here is a CANDLE PTR-100B

For me, it's all experimenting. For the professional graphics designer they probably know exactly what they are going for.

Interesting Candle- never heard of that one. What's the little leather case for? Earphone?

Well, I hunted my basement, but could not find my RadioShack Realistic Lemon colored Flavoradio to share a pic. Sorry. Anyone out there have (or remember) the lemon, cherry, lime, orange or other flavors that were available in the 70's?

I also have a Candle portable radio but it is not pocket size. It is a 12 transistor am/fm/sw and is quite heavy. Nice unit and not cheaply made as I guess the company started turning out later.

I had a blue RS Flavoradio years ago. Nice little set...should have held on to it. Nothing fancy, but it was cute and fit nicely into a coat pocket (it was just a li'l bit too big for a shirt pocket ), or even around one's wrist, as IIRC it had a wrist strap. I wonder how long Radio Shack made these radios, and for that matter, who actually made the sets for them (they were custom made for Radio Shack). I'm sure they aren't available any longer since RS got out of the consumer electronics business to focus on computers and home theater.

Just found this at a garage sale and couldnt pass it up. Its so cool and I had to figure it out.
Turns out its a Pee Wee pocket crystal set that needs no batteries from the 40's.
Clip one wire to ground and the other to a large metal object to act as an antennae. How cool is that!

Ooops that means its not transistor

Ross Micro Eight

Anybody seen this one?
Measures 2.25"x2.5"
Right now, audio output is extremely low - have to put your ear to the speaker to hear anything & headphone is silent.
Hope to get someone to work on it for me - it does have a schematic in the back.
