1983 Sony Chassis SCC-470t-A

What to properly adj Drive, Background and G2 Screen. Photofact says set Blue and Green Drive to Max. Then Screen and background and last adj Blue and Green Drive for white balance in light and dark areas. Is this correct. Never heard of regulating B and G drive by lowering from max?
