1989 RCA Console Set

I am wondering if the CTC167CS Chassis used in RCA Sets were notorious for the Eeprom failure issue and also the issue with the Ground Solder Connections? I presume this particular Chassis does not have a separate tuner board assembly like the older RCA Sets?

Thanks.

E-prom sets were CTC175, 176, 177, 186 & 187 IIRC
Older ones had separate tuners. They also got cold joints
under the connectors but easy to do. Never had a bad E-prom on
the older ones either. IIRC the CTC167 used an SCR in the
power supply & a good set. IMHO the CTC169 was the best.
It had a killer pix & I only junked one, got big lightning hit.
They were a bit of a PIA to work on. That one used a fancy
SMPS Lots of parts but I never had one commit seppuku on me.
