Sony Antenna plug

Hi;
my Sony TV-415 arrived and I got it working.
Just a bad main power Electrolytic cap.

Unfortunately the external antenna socket takes a weird plug.
It is very slightly bigger than a 3.5mm headphone plug.
Does anyone know what this is called?

I have an external digital tuner box with an F connector for the RF out.
I soldered an F connector to a RCA mini plug, for the TV.
You have to lever it up, and hold it there, to get it to work.

There is no room in the set to install an internal F connector.
So I have to find the correct plug, or adapter.

Thanks

Mick M

I just looked at my genuine Sony car antenna. It has a plug that looks like a 3.5 mm phone plug. It's an early model, so it was made for the Sony B/W sets.
I bought a phone to F connector at R/S. It's seems to work on all my sets, including the jelly-bean sets.

Hi;
thanks for checking.
On mine a standard plug wiggles - just a tad too small.
I worked at a a stereo store a long time ago and I seem to remember this plug.

On the back there is also an audio-in jack, the plug fits this fine, no wiggle.

I just checked the jack on my Sony TV520 B/W set.
This one came with an optional VHF/UHF splitter, that plugs into the external antenna jack. That one also has a 3.5mm jack. I don't know the age of my set, but this white cabinet turned rather yellow. Still a neat little set.
