A very interesting cabinet-I don't recall seeing this one before.

Nice complete set with factory UHF tuner. The Asbury model retailed for $750.00 in '56-'57, UHF extra.

I have a set like that one but it is a blond cabinet. Think the dark wood looks better. He also has a 70's ss zenith set with a really nice picture for sale. Must be up near rochester cause I saw channel 13 {wham} on the screen.
Not sure but I did see someone on craigs list selling a b@w zenith a couple weeks ago and I wonder if it is the same person. I was interested in it but they never wrote me back.
Hope one of you guys get it.
Ed

Yes indeed this CTC 5 is VERY interesting looking. I think my CTC 9 might like an "older brother" to keep him company. It looks like it's in very good condition on the outside at least, and I can only assume it should be in reasonable condition on the inside as well.

I'll watch this one closely and make a decision toward the end of the auction.

Hope I don't step on any AKers toes......Bob.

I think all 4 that have bid are Akers! I'm not jumping in. I like the set but it is too far to drive for me.

$816 High bid! I don't think I have seen a CTC-5 go this high in price. Though the Asbury is a very uncommon set, I think this is the first one I have seen available.

Looks like the set is leaving the USA and going to Austria.

The buyer has an own vintage tv web page:

http://members.chello.at/b.beier/def...Television.htm

and I have sold him a GE Portacolor this year.

Most interesting is his construction of a mechanical televisor with tubes, see
