I have the PDP-V501X, also from 1998. I use it nearly every day. It heats my TV room quite nicely in the winter, lol.

I'd like to get hold of one of those, and also there was a Philips even earlier that I'd like to find. I have the whole Sony plasma lineup, and in fact I have an appt today at 2:00 to get YET another one (KE50XBR950) in perfect shape and (says) no panel issues for nearly nothing. I have the first 32" Sony plasma also (KE32TS1), and one each of the XBR950 series (42,50,55,61 inch) models, plus a 61" parts set and a commercial version of the 42". All of them have working chassis, however all but one of the 61" sets have the burnt integrated ribbon cables (panels not repairable).
