My homemade vidicon camera now making pictures!!! :D
G'day all. I have been working on my homemade vidicon camera once again ironing out the bugs in it with a lot of great technical advice from Richard Diehl of Labguysworld.com and the camera is now outputting recognizable pictures which I am very pleased with!!! The pictures are still far from perfect but I am very happy I have made it this far with my camera. So far the picture covers about 3/4 to 4/5 of the screen, is not quite in focus, stretches as the vertical scanning scans further down towards the bottom of the screen, and has low sensitivity. Despite that the pictures are now recognizable.
I have made a YouTube video of my camera in action and during the video I talk about the progress made with the camera and point out the faults with the picture. Here's a link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emMFnbv33bc . I have also attached some screen snaps to this thread as well. One thing I know I have to fix up is the back focus as the focus is not in proportion to the focus distance setting on the lens focus, only problem though is the lens mount is bolted to the yoke so the back focus is at a fixed distance. The yoke assembly came from a non-working Sony AVC-3250CE. Anyways I hope to soon get this camera making as good pictures as a typical B&W vidicon camera like the Sony AVC range.
