Yes, the cord was fine. It even has the original bakelite plug! It just needed a recap. My repairman said it appears very likely, given the condition of the chassis and components, that the set was stored away in working condition. It showed no sign of problems or repairs. It may have even been a gift that was just never used! I took a gamble buying this set on eBay, but I'm very glad now that I did!
