IIRC the first B&W sonys imported here didnt have UHF
so I would guess it was for them. One of the Sony collectors
will give you the poop on it soon I bet.
Cant be many around, a great find IMHO.

Talk about Space Age looking! That antenna is sweet!

It looks like form the styling it would fir the 5" micro TV. It had a similar grey color scheme.

Here you go. Not quite half-way down the lengthy page.

And reading closely, this antenna is tuneable by sliding a dipole. Very clever.

Cool this went with a Sony 5 303-W TV. I had one a long time ago but haven't seen one of those in 20 years! Now i have to figure out if I should track down a tv to go with it or put the converter on the classified section of the forum and trade for something else. What do you all think? Thank you Dave and everyone who replied!

I would hold out for a bit and see if a set jumps out at you. There are a lot of them out there. Then there is the problem of there is nothing to see unless you have a modulator solution.

And somewhere around here I have a NOS Sony magnetic mount bat-wing antenna for car trunk mounting to use with the 5" sets. Gotta go to the attic.

I'll have to keep an eye out looking for one of those for the two 303s I have here. Knew they existed, but I have a 307 and a (I think...305) that both have UHF. The first set in my "collection" was a Sony 303 my Dad gave me around 20 years ago that was in pretty good shape. I kept it around and on a shelf around ten years before I thought of "collecting" sets at all. Recently found a "basket case" 303 that had a good CRT, and got mine nice and bright again (was having a weird "silvery faces" contrast problem that turned out to be the CRT).

We do have UHF still here in San Diego. Some odd Mexican stations, and for some reason....a couple regular stations have popped up in the last couple months. I've not watched them long enough to see who they are yet. There is a jack on the side of 303 that I thought was just for the little tiny box/balun for an external antenna. This little UHF tuner must shoot a signal on channel 13 or something.

This great looking antenna reminds me of the one I have been looking for for the Singer TV6U.
