Hi Fromn Tim

Hi my name is Tim and I enjoy working on record players. I restored a few RCA Skippers and I always love to learn new things.

Wonder if it was the same person who later went on to name RCA's "Dimensia" line of TVs?

Outside of a poor product title, RCA lost a lot of money on that unit. It was a battery operated portable radio, 45 RPM phono. It used a battery pack for the radio and 4 "D" cells for the phono motor. It had a connector on the bottom for an AC adaptor, as it could be a little costly to operate on batteries.
RCA contracted with another firm to build the AC adaptor. The adaptor became NLA, shortly after the unit came out and RCA sold them out cheap to get rid of them.
Mail order firms like Olsons was selling them for $29.95. The original price was supposed to be around $100.00 .

And also, yes, that is a ludicrous name for a record player.
