1702's are awesome. First s-video monitors I ever touched.
C128's though...they are a nice upgrade from the c64 but almost no software really supported the upgraded hardware fully. Most stuff still ran in c64 mode. Nice CED players though. You guys seem to be going crazy over them. |

Two vcrs I went through yesterday:
AKAI VS-1092U (has TA7245BP on top of it) is that a part number? Tested, powers on normal, loads and unloads normal but grinding and noise from underneath while loaded. Emerson VCR765 (works) Last edited by pac.attack76; 07-14-2016 at 02:45 PM. |

Is there an actual interest in RCA CED discs? I've kept all of mine, some still sealed. But really, isn't all the content available on more modern media now? Just curious. Im not going to dispose of them, I have 2 players.

Don't throw your gear out. There is a group of CED player collectors just like there is a group of tube era TV collectors, just like there is a group of vinyl collectors. I presently have 5 CED players and a ton of discs. I plan to fix and sell a duplicate player and a portion of my discs in a few months (most of my discs were bought in lots so a percentage of the movies are stuff I don't like). If you want your gear to just go away and are near by I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

Id say theres an interest. Check out cedmagic.com. Worth more than any dvd or bluray. the so called modern media can only hope to gain the status that older media has gained.

There are an oddly large number of movies that came out on CED that never saw a re-release on DVD or even VHS. While the technology is largely redundant at this point with the rest of the selection available on other formats it doesn't hurt to get a dozen or so movies and add it into your AV system for kicks.

I did not look up those CED players .Is any of them that play stereo. The Akai and Emerson VCRs look familiar . |

No problem. I love sharing this kind of stuff. I'm actually watching Escape From New York right now on my 25" 1984 RCA XL-100. The silver deck is stereo. I think it's SJT 200.

I'm trying to hook you up but out of the five I have, they're all different models. Next time I come across any more though, I'll have a better chance of finding something I already have. I won't have a need for duplicate machines.
