Got a few Hallicrafters, too-An S-27/36, S-39, SX-73. The S-39 is neat, but not much of a radio...The SX-73, if given a decent antenna, will give a certain Collins product thats name starts w/"R" & ends w/"390-A" a pretty good run for its money..Had an SX-25, ended up giving it to a 13-yr-old kid who thought it was the finest thing that ever was...Especially a week or 2 later when he broke his leg & was laid up for awhile...Gave him something to play with..

I remember the old SX-25; it was my receiver for many years. I ended up learning its circuits backwards and forwards.
Another thing I need is an S-meter plug for the S-20R. It's a 5-pin just like on an 807 or other older tube. Can anyone help? An S-20R parts unit would be very helpful too, with the needed coils and bandswitch wafer and electromagnetic speaker. |

Success! Got the receiver working finally. And found an old 40m plugin plate coil with a 5 pin plug that can be used for the S meter. So all is well, apart from some TLC here and there.
