Trashed Zenith Porthole in Philly CL
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/atq/2428642690.html
Looks like it was tied to the back of a pickup truck and dragged through miles of gravel, but it's a porthole . |

It lived in a house with one or more cats once, I think. That would explain the grille cloth.

My cats know better to do that. But, one recent addition seems to want to mark them as his. Yuck. After seeing my panic though he's been staying away from them.

Oh I dunno - it doesn't look that bad to me.
I don't see any sections of veneer missing or major separation. Probably just needs some refinishing. Both chassis look to be in good condition too. |

Yeah, I've seen worse. But I have Terry 75 miles away, and an EXCELLENT furniture refinisher guy here locally. Bill Watkins is 35 miles up the road to re-do the speaker, & the fabric covering ? A call to Antique Radio supply would have THAT taken care of, assuming I couldn't find somethin' awful close in a local Remnants Shop. As long as the CRT ain't Shazbat, that puppy is eminently restorable, IMHO.
